About us

Local people. Real experience. Straightforward finance.

Finsterl Finance Wide Bay & Fraser Coast is a locally operated branch of Finsterl Finance — backed by broader systems and lender relationships, delivered by a real person who lives and works in the region.

Who we are

Big-broker options with local-broker service

We're part of the broader Finsterl Finance brand — which means access to more than 65 lenders, established processes and strong lender relationships. What we add locally is the personal service you can't get from a national call centre: a real person, a direct number and someone who knows the area.

We value long-term relationships over transactions. Most of our clients come back to us — for the next car, the next piece of equipment, or when they refer a mate or a supplier they know.

Luke Ummels

Wide Bay & Fraser Coast Finance Specialist

When you're looking for finance, it helps to work with someone who genuinely understands the assets you're buying, the local community you live in, and the importance of getting the right outcome for your family or business.

Luke Ummels brings more than 16 years of experience in the automotive industry, with over a decade specialising in vehicle sales and finance. Throughout his career, he has helped hundreds of individuals, families and business owners navigate the finance process, taking the time to understand their goals and find lending solutions that genuinely suit their circumstances.

His experience extends well beyond passenger vehicles. Luke has extensive knowledge of commercial equipment and machinery, including excavators, loaders, trucks and a wide range of heavy equipment. Having worked closely with businesses across these industries, he understands not only the equipment itself, but also the practical finance structures that help businesses grow.

In 2020, Luke and his family relocated from Brisbane to Bundaberg and have proudly called the Wide Bay region home ever since. Being part of the local community isn't just where he works — it's where he and his family have built their life.

Outside of work, Luke is an active member of the Bundaberg Surf Life Saving Club, where his children participate in Nippers and he volunteers as an Age Manager. Supporting local families, giving back to the community and helping young people develop confidence and life skills are values that are important to him both personally and professionally.

As Finsterl Finance's dedicated Wide Bay & Fraser Coast Finance Specialist, Luke understands the unique needs of the local community. Whether you're purchasing your next family car, upgrading business equipment, expanding your fleet or looking for flexible business finance, you'll be dealing with someone who genuinely understands the region and is committed to achieving the right outcome.

With access to more than 65 lenders, Luke combines local, personalised service with a broad range of lending options to help secure competitive finance solutions for both consumer and commercial clients. His approach is straightforward, transparent and focused on building long-term relationships — not simply arranging one loan.

For Luke, finance is about more than getting an approval. It's about helping local families and businesses move forward with confidence, knowing they have someone in their corner who genuinely cares about achieving the best possible result.
